Hello! Thanks for being here. Kitchen Counter Conversations, or KCC, came about because I so often found myself with questions for which I couldn’t seem to find satisfactory answers. It’s not that there weren’t answers out there, it’s more that I didn’t feel I could trust those answers enough to stake my claim on them. “Who exactly am I supposed to believe?” is one of my common sentiments after watching the news or hopping on social media. My skepticism led me to this outlet. I decided what would give me the most confidence in my own decisions as a mother would be to reach out to people, ask them questions directly, and see if that satisfies my itch. If I have questions, it’s likely other parents do too.

Writing is enjoyable for me, and I’m a stay-at-home mom who is looking for a creative outlet, so here we are. Some of the posts you read will likely be in more journalistic format while others will be ultra-casual, but hopefully, regardless of the writing style I choose that day, you will come away from reading with slightly more knowledge, understanding, and maybe even more questions that will lead you to seek out your own answers. I’m telling you, I think that’s the best way, But I don’t want to talk myself out of a hobby here, so if you want to take my word for it for now, that’s alright with me.
